I actually picked this name without realizing I’d be sharing it with a short-lived Autobot. Didn’t really get into Transformers until Beast Wars, and was never really a comics person, so most of what I know about the sequential-art versions of the robots in disguise is second-hand.
But yeah, explaining this is gonna be awkward.
I’m more inclined to argue she’s worried about how to break the news when the Autobots inevitably come looking for Optimus. “Hey, have you seen Optimus?”
“Yeah, about that…”
Also, jealous that Optimus keeps coming back, Scrounge? Doesn’t that special arm help?
I think the bigger question is how he fit through the door. We’ve got a thirty-foot Autobot in a library designed for three-foot ponies. And don’t say he transformed, either, there’s no way a semi truck is getting into that library without crashing through one of the walls like the Kool-Aid Man.
Also, Twilight seems worried and annoyed, but not sad or anything. I think she knows Optimus never stays dead.

Also, could he not simply be returning or borrowing a book?
moments after Twilight gets Owlowiscious out
“Twilight, I’ve come to return the biography of Starswirl the Bearded. Sorry it’s a bit singed, the Decepti- Primus not again!”
Well he used to be a librarian.
He was the bookshelf.
