That’s even more true now that Rainbow Rocks has appeared where all those things are true, Sunset turns out for the better, but she is still opposed to Celestia’s old methods that stir obsession and trouble.
 
Taking that into account and the Kill la Kill OVA 25:  
Celestia is Ragyo  
Sunset is Satsuki  
Rainbow Dash is Ryuko with Pinkie Pie as Mako  
and Twilight Sparkle is Rei Hououmaru
 
This pretty much completes the personality and relationship cycle for those connected with Ragyo/Celestia, even if we do have to turn it on its head to fit Celestia with Ragyo. Thankfully we don’t have to feel obligated to put Twilight into a main character role that simply doesn’t fit. It also helps Hououmaru has a similar devotion to Ragyo as Twilight does with Celestia.

KILL LA KILL SPOILERS: Sunset started out loyal to Celestia, but eventually she just played at loyalty in order to defeat her mentor. Also, she got an entire high school to fear her. She IS Satsuki.

Because Sunset is Ryuko in this situation and Twilight is Satsuki. They’re both clearly wearing Senketsu and Junketsu respectively.

Interesting. It’s something of a role reversal compared to Equestria Girls, but Twilight definitely inspires Satsuki’s kind of fanatic loyalty.
