Moderation is for the weak, especially in an instance in which a total lack of moderation harms nobody.
Good moderation, one can hope.
Nowhere in the already nonexistent guidebook for enjoying any form of entertainment is there a rule stating that we can only nickname canon characters as opposed to any character we want. As the audience, who’s going to stop us? I mean, seriously, dude.
Fan nicknames are usually for canon characters, not OCs. And descriptive names are still better than speculative ones.
Fans do it all the time. We call it a “Fan Nickname.” I have since learned from later comics that his name is “Chang,” so it’s a moot point anyways.
You can’t just decide to name someone else’s character, though. (Fortunately, it looks like the artist now has.)
The latest ones show that Chang (the changeling) wears it as a sort of wrist band (I don’t know equine anatomy enough to use the proper term).
