I would not call LPS a “second FIM”. It has a similar slice-of-life formula, but just because it’s slice-of-life doesn’t mean it’s trying to copy FIM.
Indeed.
Bizkit twins are Tiara/SS clones as well, but they’re still entertaining at least, and they’ve tried to do different things with the same archetypes. One of my favourite episodes was this kind of ‘failed attempted redemption’ episode where a bully girl exchange student started hassling the Bizkits. Blythe stepped in to defend them and earned their undying loyalty, only it turned out they’re even more annoying as friends than bullies.
Which brings me to one of Blythe’s biggest problems. She’s a generic central character with no set personality of her own, ie the kind of character Lauren didn’t want Twilight to be. Her friends have better characterisation, and deserve the spotlight so much more.
Whateves.
If you’re getting prepared for a shitstorm of comments, than you should already know Adventure Time is a well loved cartoon series that even I have to admit outmatches MLP in terms of creativity and maturity. The other cartoons are also pretty great, which is why CN is a better channel. You may not like them, but the audience, including myself, does. We can actually stay and consistently watch cartoons there while on the Hub, we watch MLP, and then half the audience leaves to avoid LPS.
Sorry, but I’m one of the few people who detests Adventure Time. :\
Used to have a “charm” since Season 1 and 2, but now it’s fucking reptitive and boring. And I don’t care about I Remember You and that weird story about the Mushroom War.
That, and I hate Penelton Warden’s other works like Bravest Warrior. I watched an episode, but that was with Tara Strong in it.
And I pretty much gave up all hope and respect for CN because of Steven’s Universe, and Clarence (Which they have great effort and potential on having socially awkward kids, but failed due to the art-style and horrendous voice acting). Which is sad, because that Channel used to be my childhood. (And no, I’m not saying that because of obviously mindless reasons that most people said nowadays) I think the only redeemable show out there, would be Cartoon Planet, and upcoming Sonic Boom…

I’ll admit, I dislike LPS, but…. The Hub? Garbage? Oooookayyyy…..
I asked to you explain but its the internet what the fuck was i expecting from anybody here. Most cartoons have to teach lessons to kids thus similar stories might be told and the character types that lps have are common cartoons types but flesh out a bit more. I believe this all started with Zoey having a similar hair color scheme. I’m not narrow minded so I’m open to it if you can convince me.
It IS a clone. Character personalities, stories, and many other things are used, but it doesn’t go together like FiM does.
It’s NOT the same writing/animation team most of the time, and you can tell. Even when it is, it isn’t up to snuff of their FiM work.
I actually think LPS has a different nature from FiM. The characters have very different personalities, you can’t even really find their counterparts in FiM. The only reason the two shows might have a similar feel is because for the most part the same people are working on them (which may or may not be a coincidence). I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.
Dan Vs. is not Hasbro.
This. The show has no identity of its own and is proof that you can’t recreate a FiM phenomenon.
