Not only is this sweet, this is actually WITHIN MLP canon since G1.

Like G4 Spike, without G1 Spike getting much older, his fire breath skills started increasing exponentially. In fact that incident nearly hurt Megan and the other ponies, which triggered him to go on the original Spike Dragon Quest. Since Faust created Spike to follow in G1 Spike’s footsteps, with a blank in his backstory, it leaves a lot of interesting questions.

Makes sense. Although his green fire has the additional ability to teleport, meaning there is a LOT of magic in his bloodline. The other dragons didn’t have any of that.

As far as I know, there are very few ‘dragon wizards’ even in your most radical D&D game. But there are a lot of elder dragons with more arcane and ancient knowledge and abilities.

Question: Did Celestia know Spike’s father? Spike very unique and connected to Twilight and the elements in how he was born, not to mention Celestia’s nostalgia with Spike in the most recent Spike comic.

So basically, a dragon’s fire is uniquely colored for every dragon up to a certain point of its power. That point is most likely, the kid-level fire. Once the dragon goes beyond that point (possibly teen-level), it becomes the traditional red/orange fire that we all know?

Yeah, I can accept that.

Looks like small dragonfire is multicolored, but BIG dragonfire is always orange-yellow.

In IRL: The yellow and orange colours of most fires are due to tiny, incandescent particles of uncombusted carbon heated to red or yellow heat. These result from what is known as incomplete combustion and also contribute to the smoke and soot produced by a typical fire. I.e. too much fuel for given air.

This kinda reminds me of g1 Spike. I can’t completely recall the episode, but there was this time when they mentioned him growing up with the consequences that his fire breath was getting stronger. Maybe it’s something like that and our Spike is growing up as well. Hopefully they will explain if there is difference between the green fire and the red fire.

In b4 Celestia told Spike to never use his true fire unless its an absolute emergency (or if he’s 100% sure he won’t hurt anyone) and the green transport fire she taught him is a sort of seal for it, so he won’t hurt anyone when he accidentally burps or sneezes.

Well, it seems that even though his green fire can also burn sometimes, its supposed to be the “magic” teleportation fire he learned. His true dragon fire, it seems, is red as well.
