Spike was really, really bored that day, with Twilight teaching Rainbow Dash about the history of the Wonderbolts. It’s probably why he decided to help Fluttershy with her project later on in the episode after he fled the house to avoid Twilight’s wrath.

What is up with Spike’s face in this scene? I can’t not laugh whenever this comes on…. Even though I’ve already watched this episode more times than I can count, I still crack up at it.

He wasn’t the ‘butt’ of this joke though, he was a part of it. That’s great. It’s when him getting smashed by a door or him fucking everything up is used for some poor unfunny joke that everyone groans and rolls their eyes.
