I actually did this piece before Sunset’s Heel-Face Turn in Rainbow Rocks. Were I to redo it, I would definitely cast Trixie as Jeannie’s evil twin. :)
Well, sort of. The “no killing” thing was there in the Disney film. So I guess there were four rules, practically speaking.
Basically; a lot of their stuff was based on fairy tales/old wives tales and the like, so it should be no surprise.

First rule is that genies can’t kill anybody, but you’re spot on with the others.
There was Norm the Genie who disregarded the ‘Wish for more wishes’ deal :3
…….What’s the first rule? I thought it was just that you can’t wish for more wishes, make someone fall in love with you by force {like a love potion}, and bring back the dead.

Besides, there’s plenty of genies to choose from! Hell, one of them could break the first three rules of wish-granting

It’s a decent show. Standard 60’s sitcom hijinx. Avoid the first season (except the pilot).
