Not to mention the whole glamour thing being part of who she really is.  
And Spike digs that too.  
The point simply being Spike likes the real Rarity. Every single part of it, no excuses.  
Heck, he even likes the way she chews (as creepy as it is).  
Indeed, “just her mane” seems to fall somewhat hort after a certain point.

Meh. Pre-SoME maybe I’d agree. I don’t actively ship Sparity, but after that episode, to keep saying he still just likes her mane seems to fall short. There’s definetly more to it already, even if it is just a childhood crush.

Given how Spike fell for Rare at first sight and how he gives love stares at Twi when she had the same manestyle as Rarity despite the real Rarity being right next to him, I think it is more of a beauty than a personality thing.

-Trenderhoof likes AJ and not Rarity.  
-Rarity tries to act like AJ, effectively pretending to be someone she’s not.  
-Spike is the one who likes Rarity’s true personality.  
-People actually thought this episode had any chance to hurt Sparity in any way.
