Well I know what to do if I ever need a shorty.
I’m just stick with my Mossberg Maverick 88 for now.
I’m not from the US so I didn’t know about that, thanks for the heads up.
@cogsandspigots
You don’t need an FFL to own NFA Class III firearms; if they’re legal in your state– for fook’s sake, check first– you fill out a Form 4 at the time of purchase, get signed approval from from the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in your jurisdiction (Chief Of Police in a municipality or Sheriff in unincorporated areas), and send it to BATFE with a $250 check to cover the transfer tax; after a period of anywhere from two weeks to JESUS COMES BACK, they’ll either send you a tax stamp or a formal rejection letter. Silencers, Short Barreled Shotguns (SBS), Short Barreled Rifles (SBR), and Destructive Devices can be bought new; Machine Guns must have been manufactured prior to May 19th 1986 to be legal for civilian sale.

get a short barrel
It’s hella cheaper to just buy a shorty new from the factory; thanks to BATFE’s farcically byzantine rules– which carry the weight of federal law, even though they’re not voted on by any elected representative– a shotgun which is converted from a legal long gun (with a barrel longer than 18”) to a short barreled firearm is legally considered an SBS and requires the $250 tax stamp, but a shotgun which is manufactured with a short barrel and a pistol grip is considered an Any Other Weapon, and while you still need CLEO and BATFE approval, AOWs only require a $5 tax stamp.
You could just send a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870 to Serbu so they can convert it into a Super Shorty, but I’m fairly certain you need a Class III License to have one of those.
I could get a short barrel for my shotgun, it’s detachable.
The stock isn’t though. :c
A shorty shotty is better than a baton; load it with rubber ball type less-lethals and you can just point it under the edge of the shield at an angle and bounce the stingers off the ground and right up into their unmentionables without having to break cover.
Generally just the people who like to make spectacles of themselves
