4chan coined the term brony and were among the first to use it unironically. The word was then abused and adopted by others to the point of exhaustion, with thousands of people eventually using it the word got annoying because the overuse of the word from those “more vocal fans” gave it a bad reputation. it therefore became stale and tiresome.
“brony” has paved the same destiny for all memes originating from 4chan. Please educate yourself.
