Background Pony #11D4
I look into the distance and I see that one Pony still remains even after the Funeral was finished hours ago. If I recall it was for a Dragon but that can’t be correct for if my memory serves me as it should, Dragons are often seen as monsters, horrrific fire breathing creatures that horde treasure and feast upon Pony flesh. No it would seem as though this Dragon was different. He was raised to consume gems and Pony food, he was taught to befriend those he met, to show kindness and to be careing towards others. He became as apart of them as they were apart of him. It is a shame then that he was befallen, to die as nothing more than a child, never to see life for what it truely had to offer or to experience it for ones-self.

His death wasn’t a pleasant one, he died of a Plague, a horrible infection that laid dormant for months after he had contracted it. The Disease ravaged his body, killing almost all of his senses. He couldn’t taste anything but copper, his tongue bleeding internally prevented him from tasting anything else. He couldn’t smell, the Cartilage within died rendering his Nose useless. His hearing was all but gone, requiring those around him to speak into his only good ear which was only functioning at only 20% leaving him almost deaf. His sight… all he could see was darkness unless he was less than a foot away from it, and even then all he could see was faint blurs. The only sense spared was his touch yet he wished he couldn’t feel. The Plague altered his very nerves to the point to where if he strained himself in the slightest, all he would feel was pain… as though his scales were on fire. Quite ironic for a Dragon honestly.

Spike soon became aware that something was wrong, yet he didn’t say anything to his friends feeling that he shouldn’t worry them. The pain in his skin is what he experienced first, yet he hide his pain from those around him. He would grow tired much more quickly and he found his strength fading from him. The pain only grew worse yet he stayed silent, smiling and assuring everypony that he was fine. It wasn’t until he awoke one morning and found that his sight was all but gone that he knew he needed help. He cried out,not knowing where he was or if he was even alive. He was taken to Canterlot’s hospital to be examined, but the doctors couldn’t figure out was was causing his Illness. They never would. Spike shriveled, becoming a husk of his former self. His scales lost their color and his claws and teeth dulled. Despite everything the doctors tried, they were unable to even slow down the Disease that was slowly killing the Dragon. How could they? They had no idea what they were dealing with. Spike was dead from the start.

Ultimately, it was I who had killed him. I was the one who gave him the Plague to begin with and I am the reason he has been robbed of so much in his short life. It is my work, my duty if you will. I needed a way of transporting my Plague quickly and with ease throughout the town. The Library was the perfect “ground zero” for it to spread. Dozens of books are passed through hooves on a consistent basis and makes it an ideal place for a disease to spread. He came into contact with it before anypony ever did. I had donated a book that I had laced with my Poxen’s spores and he was the one who accepted it from me taking it directly from my hoof to his clawed hand. Despite my appearance, he made no rude remark towards me and wished me a good day… I wished him the same and good health. A few months later and Spike began to feel the pain. A Year after he was admitted into Canterlot’s Hospital he finally died after I had visited him in the night and I gave him my blessings to pass on, to allow the Plague to kill him rather than let him live for me to study its effects.

It would seem that the Elements of Harmony are immune to my Plague some how given that the Element of Magic should be following her assistant into the grave as I speak. I can’t say the same for any other Pony though. My brothers have already begun with their tasks now that mine are under way. The Crops are starting to wither and there are rumors of their being a Civil War between the Princesses. Ponies across this town are feeling the PAIN and soon they to will feel what this young Dragon felt. Tis strange for… I have no memory of learning one of my carrier’s names before… then again… I can’t remember much of anything. I don’t remember where I came from, if I had a family, what my old Cutie Mark was, or even my name and yet I felt the need to learn a baby Dragon’s name of all things. Never the less, I will pay my respects for the… for Spike once the Element of Magic leaves. For one so small, he endured so much pain and being as young as he was, he deserves better. Then I will continue with my task just as I always have.

This is only the beginning of what is to come. The Cycle must continue. My brothers and I are the Enders of this Cycle and without us it would never begin a new. We are the Harbingers of the End times, We. Are. The. End. We are the Four brothers. We are Armageddon. We are the Four Horses of the Apocalypse. I am Pestilence and The Cycle will continue.
