An interesting tidbit about the comics; this was the original B cover for #13, but Sara was told to rework it to be more in line with the designs from Under the Sparkling Sea. So I guess those are really Gen 4’s canon seaponies.

maybe the water-type pony species are divided into three races just like earth ponies, unicorns and pegasai. mermares, sea ponies and hippocampi.

Kind of a tossup. The one on the right looks more “seapony”, while the one on the left looks more like the G4 art style.

Either way, as long as they SHOO BE DOO, it’s fine.
