The idea behind this is that during the three year process of evacuation (while fighting back the evil entity), each of the ponies within the protective magic circle had their own share of hardships. Fluttershy had only recently found Angel, in catatonic shock because of the other animals’ deaths. Applejack had lost Granny Smith, and she had to bear the bad news to the rest of the family. Rainbow Dash was worried about Scootaloo potentially dying after the entity attacked her evacuation camp. Pinkie Pie had found the rock farm empty, save for her sister Blinkie, and was scared to death about what could have happened to the others. Rarity was worried that Spike only loved her for her beauty, now tainted after helping rescue another camp from a forest fire. Twilight had received no news so far of her brother, sister-in-law or her parents. Celestia had to watch her little ponies, scared and crying, desperately find their friends and family, while Luna fought back the entity in vain. Within the magic circle erected by the changelings because they were the greatest source of love, each pony desperately clung to each other, valuing that they were at least finally together after all this. No pony noticed, or even cared, that Twilight was now with a pair of wings.
