I'm not famous.

Before I read the tags, I was assuming one of them was ~~standing in for~~ playing the part of Hermes. Maybe that’s a different pegasus, like Soarin’?

Myth time! Atalanta (Rainbow Dash) had heard a prophecy that love would be her undoing, so spurned it, declaring that only someone who could beat her in a footrace would be able to marry her. She was so fast that no one could, until Hippomenes (Spitfire) prayed to Aphrodite (Applejack) for help. Aphrodite was upset Atalanta had spurred love, and so gave Hippomenes three irresistible golden apples. Whenever Atalanta came close to overtaking Hippomenes, he would throw an apple, causing Atalanta to be forced to chase after it. Thereby he won the race, and was able to marry Atalanta…
At least until he forgot to thank Aphrodite, and she cursed the two into uh doing actions that desecrated another god’s altar, and angering the gods so they got turned into lions. Whoops!
