G1 had merponies too, it’s a pity they didn’t get animated appearance (unless commercials since they’re toys only http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Category:Fancy_Mermaid_Ponies). Then G3.5. had toys only merponies. Before G4 got merponies too, but kept the name ‘seapony’ associated with G1’s animated seahorses.

Izzy here has hooves instead of flippers like the G4 seaponies so we can just make a new tag for G5 seaponies! (kidding, probably)
Honestly just keep it “seapony (g4)” because this is a blip on the radar compared to the seaponies in G4. Maybe change it if they’re regularly incorporated into TYT, but that’s probably not gonna happen.

To clarify, my gripe is just in the form of “it is slightly irksome that this tag with ‘(g4)’ in the name covers a type spanning at least 2 Generations”.
