Day 27 of drawing. Wizards (1977) OST - 1. Time Will Tell
I showed my sketch to Lovely Spouse. It went about as expected.
| Today I’m getting ready for the 14th Anniversary of MLP: FiM Art Event!. So I thought I’d start with the one who started it all, and drawing sketches of Nightmare Moon! | Why are you drawing angry Luna? Didn’t it all start with Twilight Sparkle? | ||
| Well, yeah … but Luna’s the Mare in the Moon, right? And she’s what the celebration is all about! ‘Cause she’s gonna eat you and stuff. But then she comes back and she’s Woona and all cute and then everypony loves her night again! | First, it’s Zecora who’s going to eat you. But even more first, Twilight was the one who found out about the prophecy of the Mare in the Moon in her book. So it starts with the book. In fact, it starts with the library she gets the book from, like all good stories. So you should draw the library or the book. Not Nightmare Moon. She’s evil! | ||
| The holiday is not ‘Library Moon’ or ‘Twilight’s Book Moon’. It’s ‘Nightmare Night’. Like Zecora said; “Every year, we put on a disguise to save ourselves from her searching eyes”! So it’s all about drawing ponies in costumes! | The show isn’t about Nightmare Moon! It’s about Twilight Sparkle! If you love Luna so much then why aren’t you drawing the Mare In The Moon if you love her so much!? | ||
| Well maybe I will! With whiskey! And blackjack! | OMG you’re so triggered over a pony! You wanna cuddle woona! | ||
| . . . | Now get back to your table and draw the story right! Starting with Twilight Sparkle! And libraries! And books! ESPECIALLY BOOKS! I want to see a stack of Twilight Sparkle in Libraries reading Books! | ||
| OMG! You like my drawings! | I never said I like your drawings. I said I like it when you draw. You get quiet and I can read in quiet because it’s quiet. | ||
| Yeah, the headphones help a lot, don’t they? | And plots. Twilight Sparkle plots. Draw Twilight Sparkle’s plot while she’s enjoying a book with a good plot. Draw more plots. | ||
| Will you be my model? Can I draw your plot while you’re reading books with good plots in your Twilight cosplay? | uuuuh . . . |
… that’s kind of normal for us. Since Lovely Spouse commented on my art at all, I’m going to interpret it as ‘high praise’.
| Also, serious question. What Nightmare Moon’s helmet made out of? I keep thinking it’s silver or something like that in my head when I draw it, but what is going on with her nose piece? How does that even work? And how does she not poke herself in the eye or the neck when she moves? It’s like those stupid emo shoulder pads covered in thorns that would hurt the wearer worse than the enemy it’s supposed to defend against! I think maybe I need to just spend a day drawing her armor because it’s … non-intuitive. |

Of course. Nightmare Moon doesn’t get nearly as much love as Chrysalis, so it seems only fitting to offer an actual comment rather than a simple upvote when seeing her.
