I totally should have said too that I love Zootopia, but just think their racial allegory doesn’t work. The characters are fun, it’s a nice looking movie, it has really funny jokes, and the overall plot is a hero overcoming adversity and achieving their dreams kind of thing, and their whole allegory isn’t bad so much as it just doesn’t work because predator / prey relationship falls flat as an allegory for racial intolerance.

I actually kinda agree, though in the case of Zootopia it was easily able to make the difference by doing everything else so well. Dragontown… didn’t.

Apparently Maud is the only recipient of this degree.

It was really the type of story you shouldn’t try to do unless you really know what you’re talking about, can use an allegory that actually works, and I especially hate that whole “group b needs to prove themselves to group a to be seen as good” mentality that it ended on. Like, just have a person from Group B and a person from Group A meet and learn something about each other. That’d be way more meaningful and powerful a message.
 
Then again, I also thought Zootopia’s message failed on delivery too so :P

I know I’ve posted this before, but like I made the mistake of reading the Dragontown comic first, and it was like the most insultingly ignorant piece of trash I’d ever read, so it like forever stained the comics in my eyes :P

While I do have to read them myself, this one looks like one of the better ones (storywise). Plus with what I’m seeing in the episode it would make sense.

It’d be slightly weird if she didn’t considering all of the Pie sisters except Pinkie are voiced by Ingrid Nilson.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m hoping that they at least make a reference to this.
