I can’t change the world, so I want to love it the way it is)

…well, that all kinda depends on what we mean by “the world”, now doesn’t it? The human race has an awful track record when it comes to returning love, ergo all the advice we get about “being ourselves” and “not caring what others think” and “if you give them the power to feed you then you give them the power to starve you”, that sort of thing. Meanwhile, the whole Darwinian aspect of “nature” technically makes it hostile, ergo why we created civilization. As for the incomprehensible mess that is reality itself, that’s just going to make you question whether love is even a legitimate concept or just wishful thinking, which isn’t that different from how I’m currently questioning the concept of “the world”.

…maybe you just have to take your wins when you can get them, especially since there will be plenty more times when you’ll have to take the L.

It doesn’t matter if you love the world. What matters is if the world loves you in return.
