Just read from Bobby Curnow on the IDW message boards that the “baground ponies” on the cover aren’t indicative of characters who will be getting micro series issues. :(
 
(though don’t rule anything out, of course)
 
I guess we should have figured out that this was one of the “non canon” images when we noticed that little stump of a Twilicorn wing hidden on the cover, since Twilicorn is not going to be appearing in comics any time soon, if she appears in them at all.

I actually liked it because it emulated the look of the show. Although, yeah I agree, it could’ve been a lot better in terms of artwork.

I just hope the art in future issues will be more along the quality of the Rarity micro than the earlier issues– particularly the Twilight Sparkle Micro. The Twilight Micro looked really cheap and crappy, but I loved the art in the Rarity Micro because it was Andy Price.

This is the cover for the Micro TPB. It also confirms the Micro’s after the CMC being Spike, Celestia/Luna and Derpy.
