I admit I’m not exactly sure what the commissioner meant by Sweetie’s comment (they wrote the script). I think she’s just dubious that the book version of the movie could be less “fun.”

Apparently, they have a lot of casual racism and sexism thrown into them.
I took it to mean that she’s just skeptical that the books are poor, but I may be mistaken :)
