Pterosaurs have different front limbs, this one in the picture seems to be a wyvern.
I dunno, but the idea of dinosaurs and other ancient animals roaming Equestria before ponies doesn’t even sound impossible. Especially since they dominated planet Earth before human beings ever showed up.
