I’d say it’s the writers for the IDW comics not knowing what the shit they’re doing.

It’s always been a problem when it comes to both the comics and after Lauren Faust left the show.

Someone speculated that if the lighthouse wasn’t Discord’s creation including that pony, that pony is a ghost that cannot pass away in the afterlife due to extreme guilt and/or some curse and otherwise, everything he said was true. If not, Discord being that pony in disguise is still up in the air.

To be fair, is actually the first one mostly because Zipp questions a lot of things just to see the lighthouse dissapear.

And unlike G4 comics… G5 comics actually have a strange pacing due for the series that is more easy to make a multimedia story thanks to Netflix format, also in the series mentions Discord’s explanation as Sunny’s story about what separated the 3 species.

This story is either a lot of bollocks made up by Discord who disguised himself as the lighthouse pony or this is another case of IDW writers not knowing what they are doing. So far Tell Your Tale does a better job complementing the story in Make Your Mark. Comics just keep contradicting eachother and prove that they aren’t canon. They shoudnt even have Discord explain the backstory of the crystals, because in Make Your Mark, they learn it from Twilight herself.

Discord having a remnant before being reformed actually sounds interesting… in other story, it would explore a lot of stuff.

But he wasn’t sealed in glass…? What is this?

Yeah I believe in the theory that it’s discord in disguise given the beard, white hair and his story not adding up.
