That was excellent writing; as demonstrated, I remember those scenes fondly to this day.

Some of my favorite moments are Murky intentionally or accidentally unearthing the past, adding calculated lore to the FOE verse, the politics of the Bloodletter Raiders clan, especially when it involves Brim, his reformation from that vile life, and baggage that haunts him from previously being their chief. Furthermore, Murky’s relationship with Dr. Weathervane, who he meets after finding his son, Sundial’s Pipbuck and the surrogate father-son relationship they have. Furthermore, the epic showdowns between Brimstone Blitz and Big Brutus, as well as, Protege and Murky’s wits vs. Barb in the Mall, holding a position of power, forcing them to play a game of lethal roulette with Protege’s revolver, culminating with Murky beating Barb at the stealth game, shifting the bullet from the 6th chamber, culminating in one of my favorite quotes as Protege aims at barb, “Lucky number seven”! and ends that monster!

It was, but the middle was kind of a painful slog; witnessing Murky endure horrid circumstances, brimming with nightmare full for such an extended period was torture on me, but it was worth it in the end. I have no regrets finishing that epic where it feels like no character is safe.

I thought back on all those golden moments and the black moments where the characters persevered and stuck close, despite all the doubt, despite all the pain, despite their differences in philosophy on life–everything–Especially on those moments in Murky’s secret hovel, where he would hide to draw reflecting on it all; the only way he knew how to best express his feelings and struggles to himself. It was too relatable not to emulate with myself.

I didn’t even think that “Walk like a Pegasus” was just to make him feel more confident till it was mentioned in the story.

Murky was a blast of a story and I loved it greatly, felt more serious compared to other FoE stories. Have been reading it in not so great time of my life as well so do remember it dearly.

Fuzzy’s writing for Murky inspired me in a dark time in my life to persevere and trust in my God’s promises that those times would pass and that evil days won’t happen forever. Fuzzy’s writing for The Master is one of the few characters from fiction that I vehemently was so righteously furious at on Murky’s account that wanted to literally jump into the story with a scoped 30-06 Ruger Hawkeye (since I have skill with it) and end him to stop that dastard from torturing Murky any more–poor guy had enough pain and suffering even without him being The Master’s ego-inflating chewtoy.

(cough) ’Sorry if I got a bit carried away; I literally never have gotten to speak passionately about that story before.

I sometimes think of “Walk like a Pegasus” to give myself a confidence boost. Haha~
