Random note I wanted to comment on. People bring up the Windigos and where they went if ponies hate each other now, but in the penultimate episode of the show Tirek tells Chrysalis and Cozy Glow that they needed to “take care of” the Windigos sooner rather than later, since they were “Old Magic”, and they argued over priorities. This implies that the Windigos, though powerful, can be taken care of in a permanent manner.

Do you remember the original lore of the three tribes? They were never friends. The only reason they became friends was because a gun was pointed to their head. They didn’t want to freeze because of the wendigos. Not exactly a very good motivation to become friends.

What if the wendigoes didn’t exist? Would they still become friends? Its odd that the wendigoes don’t exist in g5, now isn’t it.

The three tribe’s natural state was that they were not friends. They coeixted because one made food, another made weather work and another controlled the sun and the moon. But if each tribe no longer needed to do that for each other, would they still coexist?

Something to think about.

What about Tempest or Sunset Shimmer? Even Celestia had to banish her sister. This doesn’t even count the ponies in their society that we never hear about. Their society has a concept of incarceration. If they have a jail, they have criminals. Ponies are just like people. They’re capable of both good and bad things.

Problem here is, you’re assuming there was a malevolent force that erased their history. An “other.” What if there wasn’t? What if the three tribes really went to war with each other thousands of years ago and the pony’s history was lost by their own doing? The enemy is not an “other” but rather their own weakness of selves. That’s an even scarier and relatable thought.

There’s only so much you can learn when some malevolent force pretty much erases their history.
One of those instances was from a soul-sucking amulet, and the other was a transformation into a deadly creature not in their right mind.
The middle one was a glorified light show rave party. Whoo!
