“It’s impossible to make friends in just one day!” says Twilight ‘I make friends within hours’ Sparkle.
If I remember correctly Twi herself didn’t take longer than a day to make her world-saving friendships here in Ponyville.
Since it was eternal night, we have no idea how long it was in canon. And they had a “trial by fire” thing going on.
