I think that talks more about the setting the image is in, which I don’t think is cringe at all. It’s nice even. :)
And, according to the quote in the description, as much as we don’t have to care that you don’t like it.
Right, it isn’t under any obligation, as much as I don’t need to oblige to like it.
That many artists choose to do the same thing (making eyes or eyebrows visible through physical objects framing the face, such as hair, clothing, accessories, etc.) for stylistic effect, as art is under no obligation to conform to reality.

I don’t really know that character, so no, that’s not the reason. It’s because Fluttershy’s eye is in front of the hoodie, like, clipping through.
