Spike and Smolder are not a couple either, they are just friends just like Gallus and Silverstream. So who’s cares, it’s shipping.

I don’t begrudge anyone who ships them (and honestly, they are cute), but personally, I can’t see Gallus and Smolder (or Gallus and Sandbar) as anything other than friends - best friends, in fact, but still just friends. Like, I see Sandbar as being Gallus’s best friend that he can just relax, hang out with, while Smolder is his mischievous, vitriolic best bud that he pulls pranks with, or who are often at each other’s throats, though they’re close. I feel like he wouldn’t hang out with Smolder as much since she often hangs around Spike.
 
Actually, saying that last part, I wonder how Smolder, Spike, and Gallus would get along if they were to hang out sometime… it’s an interesting thought.
 
But I digress, this is getting completely off-topic, so I’ll stop here.

Gallstream is bottom tier, Galder and Galbar are top tier.
