Mine likes to run over my stomach and then half-plop her 20-lb self partly on me, digging her claws into my stomach or my legs while purring ever so loud for several minutes. Then she readjust for a few minutes. Then decides that’s all she wanted and leaves. I was awoken for nothing. That or I’m wondering what it was she wanted.
 
If the ritual is repeated three times in one night I know that her food bowl is low or empty. And she chooses only to perform this ritual while I am (was) dead asleep.
