Snowfall is good friends with an aspiring Wonderbolt named Solar Flare. The two regularly hang out whenever they’re free and call themselves “The Salty Orphan Club” since neither one of them got adopted and were tossed out of foster care once they were old enough to survive on their own. Solar Flare strives to be the most famous Wonderbolt in history, while Snowfall has little to no aspirations at all and makes a menial living by working at the weather factory.
 
When they were foals, they would regularly run into each other in every other foster home, becoming close and doing things together whenever possible. The two were also troublemakers, repeatedly running away from their homes and trying to make it on their own as teenagers. They were always caught and returned to their foster guardians, making plans for the next escape and falling asleep talking about their idea of a perfect family.
