Ah, the abusive-father origin. A little over-done as a plot device, though in Cozy’s case it does fit. It explains why she values power, as well as hinting why she’d fixate on Tirek as a father-figure. Though why him specifically? We’ll have to wait and see.

I agree its overdone even if its something that exist I trust this author tho so far and shall see the nxt parts

A part of me would like to draw a comparison to Calamitys’ backstory based on this scene here. If you guys don’t know who I’m talking about than why haven’t you read Fallout Equestria yet? Calamity is a Pegasus, the youngest of four brothers who was born in the Grand Pegasus Enclave, and he earned his name due to the complications of his birth resulting in the death of his mother, making him a pariah within the household by his father who would verbally berate him for his wife’s untimely death (came with the territory of being a Drill Sergeant in the Grand Pegasus Enclave), no matter what he did or how hard he tried to appease his father Calamity was never much liked at home even after getting his Cutie Mark in repairing equipment. His brothers were no better in that two of them actively bullied Calamity by holding it constantly over their youngest brothers head that their mother died because of him, Autumn Leaf the second-oldest did it to try getting even and earning their fathers’ approval due to being overshadowed by his oldest brother and firstborn: Windsheer, Pride the second-yojngest did it to try emulating Autumn Leaf and out of jealousy of his younger sibling managing to get into the Enclave while Pride kept getting turned away when he applied for the last three times: with only being allowed in after Calamity was made into a Dashite, and Pride being the one to personally brand him.

Unlikely. This comic is all about reforming villains. So they do need to have a tragic backstory that explains their evilness. I’m pretty sure even Chrysalis gets a sad sob stories.

Would actually be interesting to have one of them not having a tragic past that justifies her/his actions and still have him /her reformed. Would actually be a much stronger message.

I somehow doupt that she’d know that her memories are being watched. She’s just a kid, not a psychic genious.
