Federal law sets a minimum of 18 unless parental consent is given. As far as we know, Sunset Shimmer has no parents or guardians (in the human world), so she’s either 18 or acquired it illegally.

This is certainly off topic for this image, but there is no minimum age to possess firearms under Texas law, and a minor may purchase a firearm if the parent gives permission in writing for the sale, and if it is some other form of transfer then only parental consent is required.

FSBs are for scrubs, Spike; getchaself a low profile gas block and some BUISs.

It is not legal for anyone under 18 to purchase a firearm in the US; parents can buy guns for their kids, but the parents are the legal owners and responsible for anything their kids do.

Spike should definitely have muffs on, but in-ear hearing protection is a thing.

What everypony misses:  
Both are deaf now, because they did not use hearing protection. Guns are very loud.

Reminds me of that King of the Hill episode where Hank takes Bobby to a shooting range.
 
Pretty f’d up that Bobby was able to legally get a rifle without much trouble. Then again the show takes place in Texas.

Dang! Spike using a gun!? That’s surprising! But Sunset using a gun is just cute to me. I know it’s been done before, but look at how cute she looks in that skirt and leather jacket! She may be cute on the surface, but she could defend herself with a gun intimidatingly, if she had to, and make almost anyone realize they messed with the wrong girl and back off! Looking cutely badass, Sunset!
