Yeah, I always think of her nickname being Colgate as well.
Back in 2012, in the early days of the fandom, I used to RP with someone on Facebook who took the role of Colgate (there were a lot of pony accounts on that site back in the day)
Early in the Fandom she was always named Colgate or Romana, Minuette came far later as her official name.
If you look up early Fanart of her you will see that. Today however Peolpe get really upset if someone calls her Colgate, dunno why honestly, for me her nickname will always be Colgate. Doesnt change the fact that Minuette is a pretty name though….
I know. Others called her Colgate due to her mane colours resembling said toothpaste
Before this episode, some thought she was Romana on account of her cutie mark.

I never really thought it would go that route myself to be honest where it would be emphasized to the Nth degree, but of course the acknowledgement and excitement was expected, appropriate and obvious coming from an old friend and most others in general.
But yeah, this episode is just gold, and the pones were total angels <3
There is a “big smile” tag that’s rather under-utilized! I say go use that.

I honestly thought the same thing but then again M.A. Larson was the writer for this episode. He did good on finding out what the viewers would expect, and made it different.
same here, i realy though they would go whit the “your old friends are shit now” route, im so glad they didnt!
but it kinda bothers me the 3 canterlot girls kinda lacked personality aside from being glad and happy, it realy shows when all the other chracters are so into their
traitShe does at least have braces in the flashback to school.
I half-expected them to make a brushing in-joke in this ep with her.
