Tail wiggle while being excited (Pinkie) or anxious (Fluttershy) are examples of stimming.

Twi and Maud rarely stims but still are autists.

I can totally see it. Even if Maud looks more like what people expect, consider:
•Pinkie’s pronking is a repetitive motion that could well be a stim.
•Pinkie gets totally obsessed with her interests.
•While she likes being around people, her actual social skills kinda suck. She’s bad about making people’s insecurities worse, is mistaken for not taking things seriously or not realizing what’s going on because she’s still being cheerful when no one else is, and her skills of knowing what to do for everyone’s parties come from research.

It’s funny, that last one’s the big one. The thing that would make most people say there’s no way she could be autistic is the thing that actually most stands out to me. If you were born being good at being social, you wouldn’t need to work at it the way Pinkie does. If you were born making the mistakes we see her constantly make, but one of your biggest and longest-lasting special interests, or just something you were really determined to accomplish, was something that demanded you be good at things social, you’d approach it like, well, a person who needs to get good at something they don’t have a knack for. Like, working long and hard at it, examining what worked and what didn’t in the past for yourself and for others, and observing people beforehand to try and get an idea of what you’d do for this one. If you still get it wrong, you’d do anything to get it right - as seen with Cranky! There’s a big difference between “born to do this” and “gonna get this right if it’s the last thing I do, dammit!” Pinkie wants to make people happy more than anything, and so she’s going to get this right if it’s the last thing she does.
