That’s a selfish kind of “love” that is more interested in filling yourself with the pleasure of affection and generating a feeling of importance by providing than actually wanting what’s best for the child.
 
The result is stunted children who can’t care for themselves in the real world and will never know the joy of providing for their own children. Not to mention what happens when you make someone dependent and then you, being the much older parent, inevitably die before they do.
 
Though I guess being a ghost changes that part.

I’m sure it will. Skitter probably has a real life, though, and these things take time to draw. Knowing him, he’s probably sweating over a fetishistic diapering scene.

Probably shoulda brought someone less timid than butterquiet.

There’s always a balance to maintain in comics like these. Daffodil is definitely a villain, with Rainbow and Fluttershy her victims, but the villainy can’t be too extreme, or else the tone would be completely upset. The girls now face an eternity of captivity, with no clear way to ever regain any sort of agency in their lives. They’ve been reduced to helpless infants, and presumably that’s how they’ll stay forever. It’s a pretty awful fate, when you think about it.
 
But, on the other hand, it’s presented in this light, cute framing. Daffodil is always shown as caring and pleasant, with a happy smile always on her face. She’s visually coded as friendly and cute, and so we instinctively like her. And that’s despite the obvious crime she’s committing.
 
Anyway, I don’t think a sudden reveal of her as abusive would be more “interesting,” except to those who are into a different sort of sadism.

 
I completely disagree. A mom who seems good on the surface but is secretly abusive is way more interesting than Yet Another Fictional Good Mom.

Age regression is an interesting fetish, as it overlaps a whole bunch of things: humiliation, helplessness, a desire for release from responsibility, as well as for unconditional love. This comic is hitting a lot of those points well, which is why it’s both cute and creepy. Dash and Fluttershy are going to end up Daffodil’s prisoners forever, but their prison will be a very cute and gentle one.
 
My predictions on the last two pages: Page 6 will be the usual thing of seeing her give them a bath, diapering them, and possibly feeding them. Page 7 will probably end with the mirror portal closing, so none of their friends will ever be able to find out where they disappeared to. If I were doing it, I’d close on Dash and Fluttershy looking out from the mirror, then the portal closes and the mirror just reflects the ruined nursery. The final shot would be the abandoned house, with maybe a “missing” poster of Dash and Fluttershy blowing by in the wind.

Even better, and scarier in its own way. Instead of generically evil, she just wants to smother you with love and keep you her li’l one FOREVER. Infinitely more interesting, right?

Pretty sure Daffodil is the opposite of an abusive mom. She’s an overprotective one who wants to have babies who never grow up.

I hope the girls enjoyed being grownups, because I don’t think they’ll ever get the chance to be that again.
