Put it around the neck. No chance of getting it knocked off or dropping then. Also if you want to get the picture modified, might also want to change the “nose” area - it’s narrow like for human nose, but ponies have a wide, flat(ish) muzzle.

Mask (or well, goggles in this case) on top of the head. Easy to get it knocked off this way.
