How about you judge the comic on the quality of the romance itself, rather than the fact that it’s two girls instead of a girl and a guy?  
The comic is initially about Tempest helping a filly to atone for her past deeds, then a mare appears as a spy to try and trap Tempest for her vengeful family, except that mare ends up falling in love with Tempest, because Tempest has truly suffered in the past, is truly remorseful for her actions, and is truly protective of the filly. It’s not difficult to fall in love with cool ‘anti-hero’ types anyway.

I’m more confused if anything. What is this comic actually about - Tempest helping a filly, or another typical fandom lesbian shipping? I’m trying to find a definitive answer. But all I can do is keep reading and waiting

I still love this comic and the direction it is going,  
but does anyone else feel like we missed something between this page and the intense confrontation?  
I think there should’ve been at least one panel of Tempest backing off like Thistledown asked,  
and/or both of them distracted by the sound of Lullaby getting out of the water.
