As much as I like science, I have to disagree. A society based purely on advancement, I fear, may have some serious growing pains. For example, Stalin’s Five Year Plan. That didn’t go too well for the USSR’s less developed territories.

I see how that would work, but I’m worried that political differences between city-states might cause schisms, and eventually succession. After that, it might not be too long before some larger country comes to gobble up all that tantalizing real-estate.
 
(For the record, my political ideals are shaky at best. Anything I say is most likely wrong.)

I want a Merit based, progressive, technocracy. Science equals might. A society that focuses on education, science, and industry.

The problem is that I get in trouble with both sides of the argument. I get in more trouble with liberals though. My ideal government is a collection of city-states whose entire government consists of electing sherrifs to enforce the law, judges to make the law, a group of legislators who would only meet when the need was called by the people to change a law, and an organized national army to defend it all from invaders. Obviously a little more in-depth, but you get the idea. The most important thing is that officials woukd be elected based on character (don’t want go have an evil sherrif or judge) and skill at the job, snd could be immediately sacked and replaced as necessary. Said offices would be a duty not something to be sought after.

Pop culture references are not just for Bronies. They’re for anyone familiar with the medium being referenced to enjoy. This can be anyone young or old though some references may go over younger heads.
 
People who claim the show is only for the older fanbase are either joking or are out of their minds. But to claim the show is only for little girls at this point would be moot. I’m saying that MLP:FIM is a family show. Considering the rather diverse demographic of people who watch the show right now and have watched the show in the past.
