Agreed, plus not to mention nowadays, the G4 comics are worse…

As to be expected, this comparison is made to make G1 look bad.
 
Look at some of the other G1 comics and you’ll realize not even IDW’s G4 series gets as casually dark as the old series.

Shady was able to see another universe that overlapped with our with her glasses?

Both are very good in their own ways. I would say the current comic is better, but this is what I think:
 
G4 #1-20 > G1 comic series
 
BUT…
 
G1 comic series > G4 main comic series currently (#25-onwards, FF series; I prefer adventure to slice of life).
 
I’m sorry Price, but if you can read this, I have to disagree with you, considering how (IMO) far downhill the current G4 comic has fallen, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s never gonna come back up unless something is done correctly.

Not always the damn case. G4 didn’t have and will probably never have ponies like Firefly. Plus G1 Smooze is way better than G4 Smooze.

you could have shown one of the darker scenes of the G1 comic. Such as Majesty killing a guy or Applejack making a wizard fall to his death.

The G1 comic is pretty surreal and compelling. Such strange events and creatures.

Y’know, there’s something surprisingly edgy about a pony holding a skull, and joking about it.

They have a cave troll.

But literally everything G4 is better than G1.

G1 “comic” was really just a series of picture stories printed in little girl’s magazines like the FiM ones that use nothing but stock vectors. MLP never got an actual comic series until now.

I haven’t gotten mine yet either. I ordered the Midtown Comics variant.

Ever see the old Marvel Transformers comics?

I’d say the first is like these german comics whe love to see misstranslated and the other one is a comic made to be liked.

and i say they’re two different styles for two different demographics in two different decades
