And I can’t blame the latter since Sci-Twi has shown us that the human counterparts are different and have different tastes. Pony Twilight had a crush on Flash but Sci-Twi didn’t seem to have romantic interest in him.

I think the show had Doctor Whooves interact with Roseluck and used the two of them together more for Doctor Who references and callbacks. I just checked images of him and Derpy together and outside of the 100th episode, the two didn’t seem to interact much.
 
Doctor/Derpy was mostly a fan thing to be honest (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I like Doctor/Derpy too but it seems like Doctor/Rose got a bit more attention. So this really doesn’t surprise me.

Well, it’s sunken: we ended up with the Doctor and Roseluck and Derps and Bulk. They make cute couples as well.
