I THINK THAT GROGAR WAS A SHADOW IN SEASON 4 EP.3 ,BECAUSE TIREK DIDNT KNOW ABOUT TWILIGHT PRINCESS AT THAT MOMENT, PONY OF SHADOW HAS WHITE EYES. SO THIS COULD BE ONLY GROGAR. HE MAYBE WAS SPYING FOR MANE SIX FROM SEASON 4 ( BUT I AM NOT SURE)

Shadow have opened its eyes. This was something immaterial.Maybe this was Grogar’s shadow-servant or Grogar without power ( maybe his soul) or I dont know. But I think this is connected with Grogar

Because to make Grogar any good of a villian, they have to give him the development. If they introduce someone else (unless they’d be a one-episode antagonist) they would have to make less time for Grogars development.

I’d say that this is the cannon version. His eyes were shown to glow yellow, his hood looks exactly the same and the distance between his eyes would be comparable.

I’m really hoping we get an answer to that before the show ends. It couldn’t have been Tirek since if it was him then he would’ve know about Princess Twilight in the season 4 finale, The Pony of Shadows was in limbo so he couldn’t have been either…

Look at the distance between his eyes in both cases. It’s not the same creature. Also, shadow is most likely a zebra, since it’s almost identical to Zecora in her debut episode.
