Description
Applejack stared at the water from the dock, reminiscing the traumatic event she had as a filly.
Back when she was just 10, Apple was enjoying a field trip to Camp Friendship with her friend Coloratura. The two stared down at the water from the dock. The two earth ponies jumped into the water with the rest of the class. Most ponies stayed by the shore, but they were in the deep end, since Applejack was rather adventurous. The two, thankfully, were able to swim, but Coloratura had a fear of deep water.
“AJ, the water’s a bit too deep, who knows what lurks down there.”
“Oh, Rara!” Applejack good Coloratura by her nickname. “These waters are some of the calmest in all of Equestria! Just don’t look down and focus on me! Try splashin a lil’ bit!”
Rara paused, then smiled. Looking at Applejack, she began to splash her hooves on the water, Applejack following. The two friends laughed joyfully as they made tiny waves in the salty water. Splashing and laughing, splashing-
“AH!” Rara let out a yelp as if she was in pain. “What’s wrong, Rara?”
“AJ, it hurts! It’s dragging me in! IT’S GOT ME!”
“It’s okay!” Applejack tried to calm her friend down as she thrashed in the water, but she just couldn’t. Applejack didn’t know what was happening, and neither did Rara. Applejack attempted to put her head under water to take a peek, but the salty water stung her eyes. When Apple resurfaced and wiped her eyes, the sight became more horrifying. The water was beginning to turn red, and Rara was visibly bleeding through her mouth, coughing out fresh blood.
“AJ, it’s getting worse! It’s sinking in deeper!” Rara painfully sobbed. “AJ, I want my mother! My father! Just, somepony!” Applejack grabbed on to her friend. “I got ya, Rara!” I’ll try going back to shore. Rara tried staying calm, but the teeth sunk even deeper, crunching her pelvis, chopping her organs in half, snapping through all the flesh. The filly let out a scream, blood instantly rushing up her mouth. Applejack watched in horror as her friend weakly sobbed, her eyes slowly closing, focused on her.
“It’s too cold, AJ…” Applejack held on tight to her friend as she closed her eyes and let out one final breath.
