It’s a great Windows media player! Has been around for a long time, very customizable, plays everything, does transcoding, CD ripping/burning, looks up metadata, you can even get an A/B/X testing plugin to see if your ears can detect between different encoding formats (spoiler: you usually can’t).

Yes, as well standalone tools/players for specific filetypes/consoles, however, I use foobar2000 (f2k) to play these specific filetypes, so it’s an all-in-one VGM media player. There’s tons of extensions/plugins for f2k to run all sorts of different stuff, especially when it comes to VGM.

Thanks Maud, I just realized today that I have a special interest too, related to autism (I never quite understood the meaning of special interest until today, that I looked up). I love listening to VGM (Video Game Music). And not just any ordinary songs, I’m talkin’ about VGM that loops infinitely!

It’s so nice to listen to the same song without having to listen to the fade out in the end and starting the song from start. The media player I use to listen to these specific file types of VGMs found in games records my total playtime for all songs played on the application, which is… 1 year and 72 days.

And there has been times that I listened to the same song for more than a day.

Well it’s not like we directly choose these interests, we just encounter them and some part of our brain just latches on based on our personality. I’ve always been logical and “algorithmic” so computation and math was a given. I don’t know your personality but I know it must’ve been conducive for what your special interests became. I can at least you’re good with systems with s great many parts working together, hence clocks

Pinkie too. No, really! Yes, her cheerful personality is far from the usual portrayal, but consider her supposed social skills. She actually spends a lot of time getting carried away to the annoyance or confusion of others. Her mad party skills are something she has down to a science, with as careful and detailed an approach as Twilight has toward magic. Charts and graphs and such. She remembers details like how many days it is to the birthday of everyone in town but despite her intelligence and methods toward such things she has to stop (or be stopped by a friend) and think when she’s exacerbating the issues of someone like Fluttershy (or Princess Luna in Luna Eclipsed, which is still what comes to my mind first.) She’s not naturally good at picking up on what others are thinking or feeling and how to act in response; she has to work at that. Parties, she approaches like a special interest; her love of it has her living and thinking and breathing and researching until she has it down to a degree that few others could. And the constant pronking seems like a stim.
