Because it’s assumed that if a higher-quality image than the original is uploaded, whatever source the higher-quality image was found is the preferred source.
You can’t find the full-res (2300x1900 in this case) image on Tumblr anymore, since IIRC they just removed the ability to access the “raw” images, so that means that the version from e621 is preferred in this case.
(Although, I will admit I’m reluctant to change the source away from the original one by the artist…)

Sport and trade. They share borders with multiple races of carnivores after all.
Maybe! I mean, they have plant-like animals (fruit bats, timber wolves), so it only makes sense they have animal-like plants.
Maybe it’s a creative form of algaculture? XD
I sometimes think that some ponies are vegetarian most of the time, but do eat fish occasionally.
