I am a fan of science fiction and when we approach these ideas apply in the future we voice the consequences.

1. MLP isn’t a science fiction story. (And even if it was, lots of science fiction takes some liberties here and there and aren’t 100% accurate.)
    
2. MLP is fantasy and magic is (and always has been) a huge part of it.
    
3. Speaking of, in MLP it’s canon that there’s magical spells that can change a character’s species (e.g. Ponies turning into Breezies and Ponies and Hippogriffs into Seaponies). If this is okay and believable, why is magical lesbian spawn not?
    
4. To add onto this, the Alicorn Amulet episode implied sex-swapping spells exist. So, the actual show provided a possible example of how same sex couples could potentionally have children in the world of Equestria.
    
5. In the real world, some same sex animals can have babies together. Take for example, the New Mexico Whiptail Lizard. While the female does reproduce asexually, only ones that have been mounted can lay eggs. Since the male population is pretty much non-existant, the female that’s doing the egg laying will need the help of another female to stimulate ovulation.
    
6. There has been actual recent efforts in science to make it so same sex couples can have babies. It’s not perfected yet but it’s already underway via stem-cell research. This research could also even potentionally cure infertality (which is something even straight couples could possibly benefit from as well). There’s also methods of making children with three parents as well.
    
   Basically, the scientist makes an artifical egg or sperm using the stem cells, and then makes a test tube baby. Scientists have successfully made these children using lab mice (but unfortunately the mice didn’t live very long). If the technolgy and science improves and progresses, it could very well be possible that this could work with people a few years down the line.
