But for the time that Starlight has been around she has on avrage had more images uploaded each month compared to Sunset, who should by your logic have a higher avrage since she was around longer in a time where more art was produced (though looking at the site statistics of derpibooru the trend downwards is minimal if there even is one, since the daily uploads fluctuate wildly). I wouldn’t say my point disproves your point, just that your point was unrelated to my original point. Amount of overall art is unrelated to relative amount of art of a charcter compared to another.
Well that math works out perfectly fine you also need to take into account that we are in a hiatus.
For the sake of argument let’s say we get a 9th season. In fact let’s propose the fictional scenario. The 9th Season is announced as the last season and Hasbro moves to once again reboot the franchise to capture a different audience and change up their merchandise production.
What seems more likely?
I don’t see how your logic disproves my own. Those who left the creative part of the community in 2013 and 2014 and never came back have no clue who Starlight Glimmer is. Therefore less art of Starlight Glimmer. In fact every artist that leaves or stops doing work around this franchise means the numbers of every single character slow down.
From personal experience after a franchise ends the only people left creating works are mostly hard-core shippers. But again that’s just my experience.
If the rate at which images are made of Starlight is higher (which it is around 70 more per month on avrage) and stays that way, it will theoretically pass at some point. Though with the current pace the fandom probably die first. Also, artists leaving shouldn’t really have much of an effect on the relative amount of fanart a character gets compared to another, only on the amount of fanart as whole, regardless of who it depicts.
People leaving the fandom means we have less artists that create artwork. Also I really don’t think that’s ever happening. Unless Starlight shows up in another EQG special. There’s no reason for these numbers to ever change.
Despite what some might like to believe as the years go by less and less artists create stuff, not more. So again I say, there’s no reason that these numbers will ever change there relative positions.
What does people leaving the fandom at certain points have to do with the per year avrage amount of pictures uploaded to derpibooru of Starlight and Sunset? What I’m saying is, if things continue in the way they have, Starlight will eventually have more pics on DB than Sunset.
Considering how many people jumped ship because of the Season 3 Finale and the fans that jumped ship after the 1st Equestria Girls Movie.
As well as the fact that, by this point, Sunset & Starlight may have equal screen time. I don’t know what you were expecting.
For having a 2 year head start, that’s not that much
