Yeah, perhaps, and alot of people want to either jump on the “Nintendo iz the biggest evil” bandwagon, or “PalWorld needs to dye for ripping off Pokemon” bandwagon…
I dunno, I guess I just want to take a neutral, or anti-absolutist position on it.

And as I said, this could be mostly the Pokemon Company, as technically Nintendo doesn’t fully own Pokemon, nor even make their games.
Though, oddly they haven’t gone after more blatant Pokemon style cute-monster raising games. I even saw some being sold on Google Play that blatantly reuse sprites, or edited sprites, and stuff from the old Pokemon games.

Honestly, I kinda hope the Nintendo/Pokemon Company VS Palworld thing works out calmly, and doesn’t hurt either company.

I just think that it’s kinda absurd that people on Youtube think that something like this is hurting the Gaming Industry. it’s like they’re all worried about who Nintendo will target next, I bought Palworld on Steam strictly for the absurdity. I myself am not too worried about it, but I will give props to Pocket Pair for sticking to their guns.

In fairness, Nintendo did help save the industry from the 80s crash. So they have done good things too.

Adventure Island and Wonder Boy are barely alike to me really.

Which is ironic, as now Nintendo collaborates with Universal with the Mario movie and Super Nintendo World theme Park. (Which while it looks awesome, honestly is just Mario, and might as well be called “Super Mario’s World”)

Oh, I agree entirely, what I was saying earlier was that this is just another notch in the long belt of Nintendo’s controversies. Like when we had the gaming crash in the 80’s Nintendo came out to all of these publishers and developers and told them basically you all work for us or else. Which is why you have some games that are similar to each other but have completely diffrent titles like Wonder Boy and Adventure Island or Castlevania and Master of Darkness for the Sega Master System.

Yeah but it’s the fact that Nintendo waited years on this one before springing to action. Not to mention them basing it all on the concept of catching and collecting these creatures even though Shin Megami Tensei alone would (if Nintendo went through with the lawsuit and won) give Atlus the chance to hoist them by their own petard and sue THEM.

Honestly, every game company has done crumby things, so I don’t really hate Nintendo over it. (Even Steam/Valve isn’t perfect.)

I am a bit surprised because they’ve allowed other Pokemon rip-offs to exist even in their platforms. Even the Eshop has a StarFox rip-off game that blatantly copied their character designs. (Including an axolotl that looks like Slippy Toad.) Yet, they didn’t sue them.

And in fairness, I don’t know if it is Nintendo doing it, or the Pokemon Company, as many gamers and journalists reporting on it, don’t seem to understand that Nintendo and Pokemon are different entities.
(Hence why Pokemon Funko Pops exist, but none of Mario, Link, Samus, ECT.)

I find it funny on how everyone is making a big deal about Nintendo suing PocketPair (the guys who made Palworld). it isn’t the first time Ninetndo did something scummy/shady in the gaming industry.

To me the whole “Contra and Konami” code is such a classic refference that it’s practicaly become the holy grail of gaming.
 
Luna: Thou shalt not use thine code for cheating of speedruns, lest they have their names stricken from the high score boards. Use thine code for only enjoyment of thine game lest the burden of difficulty becomes to great. Amen.

I know, it’s just most people of this generation aren’t familiar with “the code” reference hence why I referred to it as the Contra code.
