why everyone fails to realize that Spitfire was on duty on a training camp and she was suppose to act like a drill sergeant?
 
I really wish they had someone else fill the role of drill sergeant and would have shown Spitfire to be more of a manager who is laid back and tell the drill sergeant to loosen up. That would have made all the difference for me.

It’s not just the drill sargent thing either, remember when Dash came in her office and she was “autographing” posters, she looked like she was thinking “let’s just get this crap over with and sign these stupid posters”, nice that you care about your fans, Spits. Also she didn’t even seem to care about Twilight and co being in danger. Cunt status confirmed.

Lol, so true.
 
There are some extenuating circumstances though:  
  • Dash tends to be overdone by some writers just like any other pony. Mare-Do-Well is the best remembered example of course. (But all the other ponies - maybe with the exception of Twilight - have been written as super annoying at some point.)  
  • I think Dash is closest to a sort of male kid (teen/adult?) fantasy about someone who acts cool and doesn’t need to care about anything. See all the popular “badasses”. When she doesn’t seem to give a damn about things she allows people to live out that fantasy.
