To be fair they still worried about the Student 6 when they were in danger and started to have second thoughts.
True… Although I had one teacher during my early years of high school who believed that the best way to teach was through discussion, he would start by giving us a small lecture and allowed us to reply and discuss anything we found interesting about the topic at hand, we did very little in the way of actual work but I actually remember most of what I learned in those classes… I’m still friends with him although he’s not my teacher anymore.
That’s because they picked people that actually WANTED to learn. In a modern educational system, students don’t want to learn (they just wanna goof off), and teachers don’t wanna teach (they’d probably take scrubbing toilets than teach other people)

For all the fucked up shit that happened in the Medieval Period… Apprenticeships and Squirehood were actually effective methods of teaching.
Exactly, in the American education system, sometimes you do learn something. It’s just that most of the teachers are unenthusiastic and clearly don’t want to teach, and worst case scenario, you forget what you learned, anyway.
Considering how she intentionally failed a test in her debut, and weaseled her way into everyone’s good graces, which I’m presuming being a great student would help with that, I’d argue that this is actually inaccurate.
It’s more like Cozy Glow did learn, but she doesn’t care on account of her being rather psychopathic.
