I think we all feel the same way. The answer from Hasbro is what we’ve had for ages, and yet people ignore it. The comics are canon until the show contradicts.
 
However the show has contradicted nearly every single comic. And that’s no exxageration. This trend will continue, so you’re best off just assuming none are canon. It seems wierd to stick with the canon 4/80 issues that haven’t been contradicted yet. Just pull the bandaid off and expect them to be contradicted too.
 
Or rather, that the comicverse is it’s own seperate thing that goes alongside the show canon. I think that works best. There are too many good comics for me to want to dismiss them all. But there are also too many bad comics for me to want to mix it with the show.
