I agree, I needed to define what I consider to be anthropomorphism as something that’s not human that has gained human traits to define what I consider to be furry, an anthropomorphic creature from the animal kingdom, this last definition is broad spectrum so it considers mythological creatures, some forms of extraterrestrial life and what not.  
I guess what I’m trying to say is that what I consider to be furry is just a small portion of what I consider to be anthropomorphic, since furry to me has the extra condition of being something that belongs to the animal kingdom, for instance, I can’t consider to be the dancing brooms from Fantasia “furry” but they’re clearly anthropomorphic.  
I know the picture is a joke, I just wanted to analyze it a little bit from my understanding of furry, and see what category of furry I think I fall upon, true neutral I’m guessing.

The thing is, I’m not talking if they’re anthropomorphic or not, I’m talking about if they can be considered to be “furry” or not. To me there’s not a way to measure “furrynes” acording to “how anthropomorphic” something is, you just have something that’s furry (anthropomorphic animal) or not (animal with not human traits, human with no animal traits). Going by this the girls in EqG need to be anthropomorphic animals to be considered furry, even if it’s just slightly, and they’re not, they’re humans and thus non “furry”. I need to clear out that I said before that I don’t consider them to be Anthropomorphic ponies, this is because I was thinking of them as “In universe”, they’re NOT the ponies from Equestria, they’re regular humans from a completely different dimension and thus they are not humanized ponies (except twilight and sunset shimmer), that’s what I was speaking of when I was talking about Peter Parker. Since you seem to be talking from a character design point of view, yes I agree that the girls from EqG are humanized versions of the ponies, and yes, humanization is the peak form of anthropomorphization (I don’t know if this word exists), but as I said, I still don’t consider them to be furry, because even if they are anthropomorphic, they lack the “being animals” condition.

The EqG characters are anthropomorphized versions of the ponies, or humanized if you feel more comfortable, it doesn’t have be mean they have to start off as ponies ala transformation. The Peter Parker comparison is not equal as Peter Parker isn’t based off any existing spider character. The EqG characters otoh are human versions of pony characters. Even the wikipedia page for EG says as much. If we go by the logic that the more anthropomorphic something is the more furry than you wound up with EqG and humanized being the most furry thing in MLP! Which is to say a bit silly.

The picture’s obviously a joke. And even then, you even said yourself that anthropomorphic has something to do with something that is non-human that has gained a human trait. So with that definition in mind, it doesn’t just apply to animals. It can be things like aliens, plants, and even inanimate objects. So technically Groot is just as anthropomorphic as his buddy Rocket Raccoon is.

To my understanding anthropomorphic had to do with something that is originally non human that has gained some sort of human trait, this could be it’s behavior, it’s form/anatomy, human speech, sentience, etc. Going by this definition, to me furry is an anthropomorphic creature from the animal kingdom, so all the first row and everything but the “Species neutral anatomy rebel” is considered furry. I haven’t seen a single human trait on the windigos, so to me they’re just spirits.  
I don’t consider Equestria girls to be anthropomorphic ponies and thus can’t be considered furry since they started as humans and acquired pony traits along the way as a kind of a “superpower”, this is the same thing that happens with Peter Parker, he started human and acquired spider traits, he is not an anthropomorphic spider.  
I don’t know about the Smooze, I don’t even know if it’s an animal or not.  
Tree of harmony, is not an animal and thus non furry.

I haven’t watched past episode 14 of the current season so I’m guessing that’s a spoiler for an episode I haven’t seen yet. If that a thing that happened then I will concede that the tree is in fact sapient. But my broader point remains that sapience is not necessarily a requirement for something to be furry in some peoples’ eyes. Bloomberg would probably be a better example. People anthropomorphize that all the time and to some (not to me) that’s enough to be considered “furry” and is probably the sort of image meant to be conjured by the lower-right alignment.

The fact that you admit that they’re human version of the ponies shows that you’re just basically saying what I’ve been saying. How do you make a non-human human? By adding human traits. Humanized is a type of anthropomorphism and it’s at the further end of the spectrum.

They are separate interdimensional entities that are humans that share names, colors, and personality traits with ponies in another world. Only the ponies that come through the mirror and become humans are anthropomorphic, because they are ponies who are now humans. Th Hu-Mane Six, not including Sunset, were always human they just have counterparts that happen to be ponies.

They are not anthropomorphic ponies. They are quite definitely human versions of MLP characters. They don’t have “human traits” while still being ponies, they are literally humans. You can’t call a human a non-human just because they are based upon a non-human character. And this is taken even further by the fact that they are literally in an alternate universe filled with other humans.
 
I’m sorry, but your definition of anthropomorphic is complete rubbish. Making a pony into a human is not making them anthropomorphic. You’re not giving a pony human traits, you’re literally making them human. Nothing even remotely pony-like remains unless they “pony up” using magic.
 
Anthropomorphic would only be true of ponied up Equestria Girls, and they’re still more human than pony by far. Humans with animal traits, not ponies with human traits.

I’m either a hardline traditionalist or a species neutral anatomy purist.
